Large cost-cutting potential

Travel cost reductions and emission reductions go hand in hand. The average short-term cost-cutting potentials of CERO analyses conducted so far are in the range of EUR 200,000–400,000 per 1000 employees per year, depending on the type of organisation (companies generally have a larger cost cutting potential than do public authorities). CERO is designed to facilitate the identification, selection, and prioritisation of alternative strategies that could form an optimised action plan to achieve such savings, in which “low-hanging fruit” are identified early in order to finance the process over time. From a societal perspective, the cost-cutting potential of emission reduction strategies is crucial in order to attract more profit-maximising companies to institute emission reduction targets.
